Gut Microbiota Potentiates the Effect of Immune Checkpoint Therapy against Cancers

چکیده

Immune checkpoints have been aggressively investigated for anti-cancer immunotherapy. The power of microbiota on the outcome this immunotherapy has attracted much attention. For example, intestinal microorganisms play a key role in effectiveness programmed cell death 1 (PD1) and cytotoxic T lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA4) blockade. Additionally, short-chain fatty acids produced gut may modulate anti-CTLA4 anti-PD1 stimulated immune responses their anti-tumor efficacy. Enhancing effects CTLA4 blockade depends specific Bacteroides sp. microbiota, suggesting novel approaches to improve such immunotherapies. However, molecular mechanism immune-potentiation remains largely unknown. Changes are influenced by dietary environmental factors. Here, we suggested action regarding interplay between system with APRO family proteins, which might contribute innovative cancer therapy future.

Gut Microbiota Elicits a Protective Immune Response against Malaria Transmission

Glycosylation processes are under high natural selection pressure, presumably because these can modulate resistance to infection. Here, we asked whether inactivation of the UDP-galactose:β-galactoside-α1-3-galactosyltransferase (α1,3GT) gene, which ablated the expression of the Galα1-3Galβ1-4GlcNAc-R (α-gal) glycan and allowed for the production of anti-α-gal antibodies (Abs) in humans, confers...

The Development of Gut Immune Responses and Gut-Microbiota:

The infant’s immature intestinal immune system develops as it comes into contact with dietary and microbial antigens in the gut. The evolving indigenous intestinal microbiota have a significant impact on the developing immune system and there is accumulating evidence indicating that an intimate interaction between gut microbiota and host defence mechanisms is mandatory for the development and m...

Impact of the Gut Microbiota on Vaccine Responses

Non-responsiveness or poor responsiveness to vaccines are challenging issues in vaccine development, and efforts have been made to find out the potential reasons for these conditions. Intestinal microbiome plays a key role in regulating and development of immune system and the composition and diversity of microbiota in different individuals on the one hand, and the imbalance of intestinal micro...

Gut microbiota, immune development and function.

The microbiota of Westerners is significantly reduced in comparison to rural individuals living a similar lifestyle to our Paleolithic forefathers but also to that of other free-living primates such as the chimpanzee. The great majority of ingredients in the industrially produced foods consumed in the West are absorbed in the upper part of small intestine and thus of limited benefit to the micr...
